Kräuter Mix donates over 3200 euros to Mix for Kids’ aid projects
This year, 60 Kräuter Mix employees once again took up the “Cycle to work” scheme. Between June 1 and September 30, all 60 pedaled their way to work. The company from Abtswind (Germany), which produces dried herbs, vegetables and spices, has now been taking part in this nationwide initiative from the health insurance provider AOK and the German Cyclist’s Association since 2005.
Over the course of the campaign, Kräuter Mix employees cycled a total of 32,411 kilometers. The top performer, Roland Gromann, with a one-way commute of 34 kilometers between Bergtheim and Abtswind, managed 4624 kilometers over 68 days – and all that on an ordinary bike! Forty-seven employees cycled to work at least 20 times. But this wasn’t just a sporting commitment: These Kräuter Mix employees did their bit to protect the environment while boosting their own health. And that’s not all! For every kilometer cycled, the company donated ten cents to Mix for Kids. Managing director Silke Wurlitzer was delighted with the employees’ sporting ambition – after all, that’s what made the donation possible in the first place.
The cycling campaign’s organizers at Kräuter Mix, Katharina Schardt-Deublein, Irene Irmler, Rita Estenfelder and Angelika Pfeuffer, were able to hand over 3241.10 euros to Mix for Kids’ treasurer Sabine Schmidbauer. The non-profit organization finances aid projects in India, Albania and Germany to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged children and teenagers. The cyclists all received a goody bag from Kräuter Mix with some handy pieces, including a tube scarf for Covid-free rides and encounters.
