2,500 euros raised through taking the sporty way to work
Kräuter Mix employees rode a total of 16,125 kilometers for the “Cycle to Work” campaign in 2023. Sixty-three members of staff took part in the initiative, which was held all over Germany and was organized by the medical insurer AOK. Forty of them completed their commute by bicycle on at least twenty days of the year, fulfilling the aim of the initiative. The people who covered by far the furthest distance over four months were Doris Golm, Roland Gromann, Robert Friedl and Dirk Dorbath, who totaled over a thousand kilometers. Kräuter Mix rewarded their sporting endeavors with a restaurant gift coupon. All successful participants within the company also received a pair of cycling gloves. AOK also provided a sports bag with everything you need for future cycle tours.
In addition to the prizes and the knowledge that the cycling improved their health and not using their cars protected the environment, all 63 participants also did a good deed: For every kilometer they cycled, Kräuter Mix donated 15 cents to the charity Mix for Kids. Rounding the figures up, this meant that 2,500 euros were donated children’s aid projects in India, Albania and Germany. Representatives of the staff committee, the HR department, Mix for Kids and AOK met to present the prizes to the best cyclists and hand over the donation check.
