Connecting science and business
An institute for robotics, artificial intelligence and digitalization is set to be established in Kitzingen, Germany – and Kräuter Mix is one of the 15 regional companies contributing to financing the research facility. Managing Director Silke Wurlitzer and Plant Manager André Metz signed the letter of intent for a technology transfer center with the other representatives from business, science and politics. The University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt facility is scheduled to start operations in 2023. Additional supporters are the district of Kitzingen, the Lower Franconia Trade Board and the Würzburg-Schweinfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The research center’s goal is to promote cooperation between science and business and to conduct research on topics for real-world applications in robotics, artificial intelligence and digitalization in coordination with partner companies. An endowed professorship will play a central role in this process. The focus will be on innovating intelligent automation methods and technologies in a range of production processes for increased growth.
“Through the institute, Kräuter Mix can benefit from new scientific discoveries. The research area is aligned with our needs,” explains André Metz. “By using robotics, we can mitigate the skilled worker shortage while simplifying work in production and warehouse logistics.”
