{"id":8422,"date":"2023-06-05T11:35:26","date_gmt":"2023-06-05T09:35:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/?p=8422"},"modified":"2023-06-05T11:40:32","modified_gmt":"2023-06-05T09:40:32","slug":"research-explores-robotics-and-artificial-intelligence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/corporate-news\/research-explores-robotics-and-artificial-intelligence","title":{"rendered":"Research explores robotics and artificial intelligence"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Kr\u00e4uter Mix expands its network<\/h2>\n<p>In summer 2022, the Technical University of Applied Sciences W\u00fcrzburg-Schweinfurt, the district of Kitzingen, the Lower Franconia Trade Board, the W\u00fcrzburg-Schweinfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce and 20 local companies joined forces to establish a research institute for robotics, artificial intelligence and digitalization. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/corporate-news\/kraeuter-mix-contributes-to-research-center\">The mission of this technology transfer center<\/a> is to develop automation methods and technologies in a range of production processes for increased innovation and growth.<\/p>\n<p>The founding companies, which are co-funding the initiative with the Free State of Bavaria, all come from different industries in the Kitzingen area, ranging from software development to gypsum and electric engine production to herb processing. \u201cThrough the institute, we can benefit from new scientific discoveries. By leveraging robotics and links to artificial intelligence, we can mitigate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/career\/working-at-kraeuter-mix\">the skilled worker shortage<\/a> while simplifying work in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/core-competencies\/production\">production<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/core-competencies\/logistics\">warehouse logistics<\/a>,\u201d explains Plant Manager Andr\u00e9 Metz, who is responsible for coordinating Kr\u00e4uter Mix\u2019s involvement in the project.<\/p>\n<p>The technology transfer center in Kitzingen is scheduled to start operations on October 1, 2023. Regular meetings and plant tours are taking place at the companies involved in order to familiarize them with each other\u2019s research interests and develop the network. Most recently, Kr\u00e4uter Mix invited the project members to take a look behind the scenes of industrial herb and spice production at the company\u2019s sites in Abtswind and Wiesentheid.<\/p>\n<p>Plant Manager Andr\u00e9 Metz gave the participants a two-hour guided tour of the extensive halls and explained the different production and logistics processes \u2013 from the delivery of raw materials and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/core-competencies\/logistics\/stock-protection-treatment\">stock protection treatment<\/a> to the company\u2019s machine-based refinement processes, including cleaning, cutting, grinding, mixing and microbial reduction, shipping and the use of driverless transport systems.
