The trainees spent a day at the company\u2019s Abtswind site learning all about how to use measuring instruments at a workshop on measuring technology organized as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/corporate-news\/how-apprentices-are-helping-save-energy\">energy scouts<\/a> training program. The \u2018energy scouts\u2019 program is run by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) for trainees and apprentices who are committed to improving climate protection, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/company\/sustainability\">sustainability<\/a> and energy efficiency in their company.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, Kr\u00e4uter Mix trainees have regularly participated in the IHK initiative. This year, energy scouts joined from a wide range of industries for the measuring technology workshop where the company gave the participants <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/company\/picture-gallery\">a behind-the-scenes look<\/a> at the production of herbs and spices. The energy scouts started with an introduction to the basics of energy management and measuring technology with reference to electricity, compressed air, temperature and lighting. Next, they studied examples of how to improve operational processes to round out the theoretical part of the day.<\/p>\n<p>During a tour of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/core-competencies\/production\">production facilities<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/core-competencies\/logistics\">warehouses,<\/a> the energy scouts were able to apply what they had learned in practice and try their hand at using measuring instruments: they checked the current in a control cabinet, measured the brightness at various workstations and used a thermal imaging camera to measure the temperature of steam boilers and cooling pipes. The trainees also searched the compressed air network for possible leaks in the pipes.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop finished with several calculation tasks where the trainees worked on exercises designed to illustrate how to determine potential savings in operational energy consumption. At the end of the day, however, it was the company tour that made the biggest impression on the energy scouts, who were fascinated to see how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kraeuter-mix.de\/en\/company\/about-us\">Kr\u00e4uter Mix<\/a> works and ready to take the experiences and insights gleaned from the workshop back to their own companies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kr\u00e4uter Mix recently hosted 25 trainees from a number of different companies.
