Hand in hand:
Supplying high-quality raw materials
Here at Kräuter Mix, we drive value creation through the reliable and responsible supply of plant-based raw materials. As such, we approach sustainability holistically – within the company and along our supply chain as a whole. The goal is to identify risks early on and, together with our suppliers – most of them long-standing – uphold high quality and safety standards in the supply of our natural products.
Good cooperation and communication with our suppliers are essential here. Our raw material procurement and sustainability management teams also review relevant aspects, including product quality, safety and hygiene standards, as well as environmental and social requirements. Supplier questionnaires, site visits and internal audits or external inspections on site at our suppliers’ facilities all play a role here, as needed.
Qualification and targeted training is the cornerstone of our supplier development. Among other things, this includes requirements relating to Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP), product quality and safety, and sustainability. We also provide training materials to support our suppliers in implementing the relevant standards.
In order to manage potential human rights and environmental risks, Kräuter Mix has established a systematic risk management system along the supply chain. The system is based on the requirements set out in the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) and combines a country-specific risk analysis with a risk-based supplier assessment.
When it comes to sourcing our raw materials, we place great value on responsible agricultural practices and conservation-compliant wild harvesting that promote respectful stewardship of the natural environment. In doing so, we prioritize clearly defined processes, training and audits to address potential environmental and social risks and ensure compliance with the agreed standards.
We continuously work to strengthen and further develop our supply structures with a focus on conservation and environmental protection as well as dignified living and working conditions. We do this by ensuring open communication with our suppliers and partnering with our customers, industry and interest groups, as well as external expert agencies.
