Clocking up 15,666 kilometers cycled: Kräuter Mix donates to Mix for Kids
Between May and August this year, 72 Kräuter Mix employees covered a total of 15,666 kilometers while cycling to work. They were participating in the cycle to work campaign organized by the health insurance company AOK and the German Cyclists’ Association. This year, well over 50 employees took to the pedals over at least 20 days of the campaign, safely meeting the organizers’ target. This made Kräuter Mix one of the companies with the largest number of participants in the Würzburg/Kitzingen/Main-Spessart region.
The Kräuter Mix team harnessed their sporting ambition to protect the environment and improve their health. But that’s not all: they also rode their bikes to help children in need. For every kilometer completed, the company donated 15 euro cents to Mix for Kids. In total, they raised 2350 euros for the association’s aid projects in Germany, India and Albania. As a small thank you, Kräuter Mix gifted all its cyclists a sports shirt featuring the Mix for Kids logo.
For the employees who clocked up the most kilometers, their participation was worth their while for another reason, too. Peter Wendel, Julian Beßler, Ewald Seufert, Oliver Ehrenschwender and Margarete Mahler received promotional bags with cycling accessories from the health insurance company AOK. From approximately 800 participants from 300 businesses in the Main-Franconian region, Stefan Lerch was lucky enough to win a pannier bag in a raffle held by AOK. “It is impressive to see just how committed Kräuter Mix is to the campaign,” said Frank Lanig from the AOK Würzburg Directorate at the prize presentation. Kräuter Mix has been taking part in the nationwide campaign since 2005.
