Kräuter Mix at the Genussortfest in Abtswind
Kräuter Mix is all set for the Genussortfest (Town Festival of Indulgence) in Abtswind on Sunday, July 31, with its very own stall by the bus stop on the main street. The company, which produces herbs, vegetables, spices and teas, will offer guests a selection of refreshing summer drinks from 11 am to 8 pm. Apprentices and employees will be selling homemade iced tea and cocktails and are looking forward to chatting about the diverse range of apprenticeship and career opportunities at Kräuter Mix. With 500 employees, the family-run business is Abtswind’s largest employer.
Proceeds from the drink sales will go to the non-profit association Mix for Kids, which the company founded back in 2018 with the aim of helping disadvantaged children and teenagers. Mix for Kids relies on donations and membership fees to support social projects across Germany, Albania and India – wherever help is urgently needed. The institutions the association supports include the Children and Adolescents’ Home in Geesdorf and the Würzburg clown doctors, both in Germany, as well as an Indian children’s home in Vadodara and an Albanian school in Shkodra. “Across all our projects, it’s important to us that we don’t just help once but permanently. That’s the only way to really make a difference,” explains Silke Wurlitzer, Managing Director at Kräuter Mix and Chairwoman at Mix for Kids.
For further information on the association’s projects, membership or the account for donations, please see the www.mixforkids.de page. The association currently has 120 members, including Kräuter Mix as its largest sponsor, and always welcomes new members. Annual membership costs 25 euros for private individuals and 100 euros for legal entities.
