Strict criteria for the production of henna powder
Kräuter Mix has added the Natrue certification for natural cosmetics to its extensive certification portfolio. The internationally recognized Natrue label certifies the organic and natural ingredients in cosmetic products, with Kräuter Mix red, black, brown and blond henna powders now all Natrue approved. In order for natural cosmetics to be certified, the following conditions must be met:
- Not tested on animals
- Contains no silicones, parabens, mineral oils, microbeads, microplastics, halogenated plastics, synthetic fragrances or genetically modified organisms
- Contains exclusively natural, derived natural and nature-identical ingredients
- No unnecessary packaging and recycling used where possible
The certification process involved a review of all relevant documentation, including for formulations, ingredients, packaging materials, manufacturing processes and storage. For henna powder, the certification and associated endorsement as a natural cosmetic last for an initial period of two years, with a subsequent review required to update the certification.
The international Natrue standard sets out stringent criteria for natural cosmetics to provide consumers with guarantees regarding the properties of cosmetic products. Products can be certified as either natural or organic. Kräuter Mix is now certified to market the following henna powders as natural cosmetics:
- Red henna coloring: henna powder
- Black henna coloring: henna powder (indigo)
- Brown henna coloring: henna powder (indigo) with added plant supplements
- Henna for blonde hair: henna powder (cassia) with ground chamomile flowers and added plant supplements
