After 35 years at Kräuter Mix Hans-Jürgen Fischer continues with reduced working hours
On 1 February, Hans-Jürgen Fischer has been working at Kräuter Mix for exactly 35 years. It has been a long time, during which he has witnessed numerous changes as a machine assistant in production. But one thing has remained the same throughout all these years: his scooter as his faithful daily companion on the way to work! Winter and summer alike, Hans-Jürgen Fischer has been zooming along on two wheels for the approximately four kilometres to Abtswind and back. Now, at the end of 2025, he and his motorised two-wheeler could have stopped going to work and retired.
But Hans-Jürgen Fischer is continuing! Although he now works fewer hours and only one day a week, he still helps out at Kräuter Mix as an assistant in the technical department. The mini-job-based working time model provides Hans-Jürgen Fischer with additional income alongside his pension and valuable support for the company.
‘This individual working time concept is just one of many solutions we offer at Kräuter Mix to accommodate our employees in changing life situations,’ says HR manager Sabrina Klinger. Whether it’s part-time work, the option to work from home or even continued employment after the actual retirement age, the aim is to retain experienced employees and their knowledge and skills within the company through flexible working time models.
Take Hans-Jürgen Fischer, for example, who will continue to ride his scooter along his familiar route to work once a week – at least for the next year or two.
