Employees and their families enjoy an action-packed Family Day
On Sunday July 12, Kräuter Mix had something special on the agenda: fun, games, delicious treats and a chance for the wider Kräuter Mix family to enjoy a good get-together. This year’s Family Day was held in and around the newly rebuilt Hall 12 at the company’s Abtswind site and was specifically geared toward staff and their families, with some 550 guests joining for the afternoon!
“We wanted our employees’ families, partners and especially their kids to be able to really see, smell and experience where Mom and Dad work,” emphasized Kräuter Mix’s managing partner Bernhard Mix as he opened the event. Mix went on to state just how proud he was that this year’s Family Day was held in the new, state-of-the-art Hall 12, freshly rebuilt following a devastating fire two years ago. He highlighted the company’s successful growth into a “real hidden champion,” once again underscoring his gratitude to the whole Kräuter Mix team.

From giant foosball to a spice workshop and raffle
Once all the afternoon’s guests had been welcomed, it was time for the fun to begin! The children rushed straight to the outdoor play areas to dive into all sorts of giant games and water play, not to mention the toy car races and Kids’ Olympics. Inside the hall, meanwhile, there were painting and crafting on offer as well as a special spice workshop, balloon artists and face painting galore.
Even the adults were inspired by their little ones’ adventurous spirit, donning VR headsets for a virtual tour of the company, helping with the QR code scavenger hunt and the sensory quiz, mixing their very own spice blends and keeping their fingers crossed for the raffle. The raffle and cake buffet were made possible thanks to generous donations in kind from local businesses and cakes brought along by Kräuter Mix’s own employees.
While the food, games and activities were all provided by the company, the proceeds from the hot-selling raffle tickets not to mention the coffee and cake were all earmarked for a very good cause. The impressive €2,000 total raised will now be donated to the Mix for Kids association, which works with long-standing project partners to promote equal opportunities, good nutrition and education for children in need.
Kräuter Mix factory tours and a flag-raising ceremony round off a fantastic day
A special highlight for many were the factory tours. These were held with strict adherence to hygiene – featuring protective coats and hairnets! – and included a shorter version specially for the kids. The visitors were treated to a look behind the scenes in production, warehousing and logistics.
All in all, Family Day was a roaring success, with countless activities, food trucks offering delicious savory treats as well as desserts and ice cream, and plenty of space to relax on a sunny summer day – with the air-conditioned hall on hand for a break from the heat! In the words of Bernhard Mix, the day highlighted just how much “it’s the people who drive the company.”
The day concluded with raising the Kräuter Mix Family Day flag, which had been painted by the children. Christoph Mix himself, long-standing managing partner, was delighted to hoist the flag to its place of honor out in the fresh air at the Abtswind site.
