Trainee and student induction
For the six new trainees and two student trainees, working life at Kräuter Mix began with icebreakers, company tours and targeted compulsory training – plus an attempt to mix their very own herb and spice blends to taste (at least their own taste!). Instead of being thrown into the deep end of day-to-day work, the trainees and students were treated to a gentler introduction to life at the company over the course of two induction days.
Who’s who at the company? What’s it like in the production halls and warehouses? What hygiene regulations have to be observed when handling food or medicinal products? These were just a few of the many questions the new starters faced, with answers readily given by their specialized trainers.
Lunch together was the perfect way to digest all this new information, followed by a spot of team-building where the trainees were put to work in groups developing their very own spice blends with Kräuter Mix products. But as we all know, taste is highly personal, meaning there was no right or wrong in this task.
All this was to lay the groundwork for a successful traineeship before the new starters joined their specialist departments. There they will spend the next three years acquiring professional commercial, industrial or technical skills. Over this period, the young talent can look forward to a trainee and apprenticeship program that includes joint workshops, lectures, team-building activities and excursions as well as plenty of celebrations!
The range of apprenticeships and traineeships at Kräuter Mix is the result of careful HR planning for the future, and the company strives to offer all their new recruits a permanent contract on successful completion of their training. At present, the company currently employs 25 trainees and apprentices across the program.
