Kräuter Mix donates 575 packs of herbal tea from the LebensMix product line for the good cause
Over the past few days, Thorsten Ellmauer brought 575 packs of herbal tea to E-Center, an Edeka grocery store in Kitzingen. The fragrant 100-gram bags were donated by Kräuter Mix. The Abtswind-based company manufactured the tea and packaged it as “Ottos Kräutertee” (Otto’s herbal tea) and provided it to Thorsten Ellmauer free of charge. “The sale of this tea benefits children with cancer,” says the man behind the joint initiative, which is supported by E-Center in Kitzingen along with Kräuter Mix. The herbal tea from the LebensMix product line is available for €3.50 at Detlef Kautzmann’s Edeka store. The blend consists of aniseed, fennel, blackberry leaves, rosehip, apple, honeybush and rose petals. All proceeds are donated to the parents’ initiative for children with leukemia and tumors in Würzburg. If all the tea sells out, more than €2,000 will have been collected for the good cause.
Thorsten Ellmauer, who is also known by his nickname Otto, has been volunteering to help children with cancer for seven years and collects donations for the parents’ initiative, with events such as raffles and auctions around Christmas time. The non-profit initiative uses the donations, among other things, to equip the three cancer wards at the University Children’s Hospital in Würzburg in a family-friendly manner, to make everyday workflows in the hospital easier by funding additional doctor and nurse positions, to provide twelve apartments for parents close to the hospital free of charge and to provide psychosocial support for families during and after a child’s treatment.
